57. John Travolta


He was a huge hit in the 70s – starring in Grease and Saturday night fever, but Travolta suffered a massive career dip from the 80s onwards until he was rescued by Quentin Tarantino in the hugely popular 1990s hit Pulp Fiction. As you can see from the picture above, Travolta gained a lot of weight and lost some of his matinee idol looks which initially made him a star.

Following on from his star turn in Pulp Fiction , Travolta made a significant comeback and proved that ageing Hollywood men can still make hit movies – even well into their 60s and 70s. Think Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, Liam Neeson, Al Pacino and Denzel Washington.
