Everyone has some part of their body that they dislike, or would like to change. After all, nobody is perfect, right?
But for many celebrities, life in the spotlight means that they feel the need to change the way they look more so than you and me. With the media constantly casting a critical eye on everything from their hair and their weight through to their outfit choices, it’s easy to see why many celebrities choose to embark on drastic weight loss programmes and even go under the knife to make changes to their bodies.
And, as the weather warms up, and thoughts turn to stepping out in a bikini, more and more celebrities are taking matters into their own hands when it comes to changing the way they look.
This year, we have seen a host of celebrities dramatically transforming their bodies, and we’re all itching to know how.
With many transforming themselves almost to the point of being unrecognisable, it’s hard not to be intrigued by their journeys and how they have made changes that have not only boosted their self-esteem, but have also boosted their bank accounts.
We’ve complied a list of some of biggest celebrity body transformations that have cropped up on our radar so far this year, and we’re sure there are plenty more to come!
Stars of Geordie Shore
When the hit MTV reality TV show, Geordie Shore, first made its debut back in 2011, audiences were introduced to Vicky Patterson, Holly Hagan, Sophie Kasaei and Charlotte Crosby. Their love of wild nights out, fast food and drunken shenanigans made them stars around the world and instantly catapulted them in the limelight.
With their newfound fame came red carpet events, VIP parties and trips around the world that saw them star in spin off shows such as Geordie Shore Down Under, and who could forget their stint in Mexico?
Making no secret of their unhealthy lifestyles, many members of the cast quickly gained weight, sparking hurtful comments about the way they looked from the media.
But today, the female faces of Geordie Shore have ultimately turned their lives around. Sporting tiny frames and glowing complexions, the Tyneside girls are almost unrecognisable. But how did they do it?
These business savvy ladies are now positive advocates for all things health and fitness. Having embarked on a challenging health and fitness plan, the girls have made positive changes for life in the way that they view exercise and make food choices.
This has paved the way for new clothing lines, TV shows and fitness DVDs that highlight how they have reached their weight loss goals and are happier as a result.
Another celebrity to dramatically change their appearance in recent months is the star of Bridget Jones Diary, Renee Zellweger.
Famous for changing her body to take on many lead movie roles, the 45 year-old actress looked almost unrecognisable when she stepped out at ELLE’s 21st annual Women in Hollywood Awards back in October 2014. We had to scrutinise the picture on several occasions just to make sure that it was her.
Sporting a line-free forehead, puffy face and altered brow, the star looked as if she had undergone surgery to achieve such a different look.
Although Renee has never actually admitted to surgery, critics have suggested that the actress may have had an upper eyelift as the distance between her brow and eye is significantly smaller than before. It was also suggested that such a smooth forehead could only have been achieved with the help of Botox.
Despite this, Renee still claims that her fresh-faced transformation is down to her healthy lifestyle and frequent workouts. Plausible explanation?
